Robert McMaster, age 96 died September 10, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Hurd, in 2008. He is survived by Robert B. McMaster IV, George C. McMaster II (Carol), Constance C. May, Catherina C. Morettini (Mrs. Anthony) and Margaret Ann (Mrs. Steven) Schelinkski, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Robert graduated from Sewickley Valley High School in 1942. He enlisted in the Army Air Force November 1942 and served with the 399 Heavy Bombardment Group as an Aircraft Armorer. After the war, he was with the Penna. Central Airlines, where he served as Manager of Ticket Counter and Reservations. In 1947, he joined with his father and brother in McMaster's Flower Shop. In 1957, he bought an insurance agency in Sewickley. In 1965, he sold his agency and joined the Robinson Conner Agency in Erie, where he became manager of Personal Lines, then Manager of Commercial Lines. In 1970, he received his CPCU Designation, completing a 5 year course in 3 years given by the Wharton School. In 1975, he was hired as a vice-president of Caroon & Black to handle the US Air account. In 1978, he bought 3 agencies in Meadville, Linesville and Cambridge Springs. He retited in 1986 and he and his wife lived in Florida and Meadville.
Robert was a 50 year Mason in the Sewickley Lodge, a member of the Meadville American Legion and a lifelong Conservative Republican.
