Robert Anthony LaLama, age 50, a kind and generous man who was a wonderful husband, father, son, and brother, of Moon Township, formerly of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born in Sewickley on October 7, 1966. Beloved husband for 24 years to Carolyn Lee (Meyers) LaLama who he married on February 12, 1993; cherished son of Amelia (Rubino) LaLama and the late Gino LaLama; loving father of Mark Robert and Miranda Lee LaLama; well-loved brother of Louise Silvestri (Vincenzo) and Louis Gino LaLama (Karen); nephew of Guido Rubino from Venezuela; uncle of Amelia Bukwaz (Gary), Thomas Silvestri (Christina) and the late Donald Silvestri; great uncle to Marina and Vincenzo Silvestri. Robert was a member of St. Joseph Church and F.O.P. He was a 1985 graduate of Our Lady of Sacred Heart, attended University of Pittsburgh and graduated in 1992 from the State Police Academy. He began his career as a state trooper and soon became a corporal and was promoted to homicide detective. Robert was caring and considerate, always helping others and had a great sense of humor. The family asks that you keep them in your prayers and do a kind deed for another in his memory. Visitation Sunday (5-21) 2-8 PM and Monday (5-22) 2-8 PM, with F.O.P. Service at 6:30 PM, at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where prayers will be recited on Tuesday (5-23) at 9:20 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church at 10 AM. Father Richard Jones, celebrant. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
