Regis “Reg” A. Szarmack, age 91, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver. He was born in Pittsburgh on August 4, 1926 to the late Maximillian S. and Anna G. (Klonowska) Szarmack.  On April 13, 2004, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Lois Jean (Colligan) Szarmack.  Loving father of Donna (Terry) Wilson of Crescent and the late Thomas R. Szarmack; cherished grandfather of Amanda (Richard) Doyle; adored grandfather of Landon, Richie and Ethan; brother of Dorothy Bohn of Pittsburgh, Renee Connolly of Maryland and the late Leonard and Robert Szarmack. Regis was a 35+ employee of American Bridge and member of St. Joseph Church. He served in the U.S. Army as a PFC during WWII and re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a Sgt. during the Korean War. Regis traveled extensively in his camper and RV, was a wizard at working crossword puzzles and loved to drive a new car, at least every 3 years.  Visitation Thursday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. where prayers will be recited on Friday at 9:00 AM followed by Mass at St. Joseph church on Friday at 9:30 AM. Father Richard Jones, celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his name to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Valley Hospital, Sewickley, PA and Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver, PA for their compassionate care.
