Mary Louise (Moore) Scholl

Mary Louise Moore Scholl died peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Masonic Village, Sewickley Pennsylvania.  She had just celebrated her 88^th birthday.

A memorial service will be held at The Presbyterian Church, Sewickley on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. 

She was born on April 25, 1930 to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lester Moore in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

She attended the Sewickley Academy and graduated from Winchester Thurston School in Pittsburgh.  She was a graduate of Stephens College, Columbia Missouri.

Mrs. Scholl was active in her Sewickley community, dedicating her time to civic and charitable organizations including the Junior League of Pittsburgh, the Child Health Association of Sewickley, the Village Garden Club of Sewickley, and was a member of the Edgeworth Club.  She held board positions in The Union Aid Society and was a Deacon and Elder of The Presbyterian Church, Sewickley. 

She was employed for many years at Hyde Travel Service, Sewickley and it was there that she became interested in world travel.  She visited many countries including Africa, Australia, Canada, the Caribbean, Egypt, England, France, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Thailand with friends and family, and enjoyed meeting new people and experiencing new cultures.

Mrs. Scholl is survived by four sons: Chris of Tucson, Arizona; Mark and Frederick, both of Moon Township, Pennsylvania; and Peter of Washington, D.C., along with six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
