Louis R. Gilberti Sr.

Louis R. Gilberti Sr., 86 of Coraopolis passed on Sunday August 19, 2018. Born October 20, 1931 in Sewickley, PA , son of the late Joseph Anthony and Susie (Palumbo) Gilberti; Beloved husband of Nancy (McNally) Gilberti; father of Louis R. (Cynthia) Gilberti Jr. of Moon Township and Jane Ellen (Roy) Thomas of Portland, OR; grandfather of Benjamin Louis (Lauren) Gilberti and Peter David Gilberti; great grandfather of Lucienne and Nora June Gilberti; brother of Nancy (Paul) DiCicco of Coraopolis and Wayne (Nancy) Gilberti of Robinson Twp. and the late Joseph A Gilberti Jr.; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lou was a Korean War Veteran serving in the US Army, a dispatcher for Union Barge company, a member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Moon Township where he has been active for many years as a usher and member of the Men’s Club. Lou was a member of the VFW Post 402 of Coraopolis and the Pittsburgh Maritime Club. Viewing Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Road Wednesday 10-11:30 AM when prayers of Transfer will be recited followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM at St. Margaret Mary Church, Moon Township. Military Honors will be accorded at the Church after Mass. Inurnment at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions be made to the VFW Post 402, Coraopolis for the memorial restoration fund.
