John M. Evancho, age 88, of Moon Township since 2011, formerly of Waukesha, WI, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Caring Heights. He was born in Windber, PA on September 30, 1928 to the late Frank and Irma (Dudas) Ivancso. John, smitten with her beautiful smile, met the love of his life in Toledo, OH, Maryanne (Kertesz) Evancho. He married her on September 9, 1950 in Toledo, OH. They had 58 wonderful years of marriage, until her passing in 2008. John and Maryanne were blessed with two loving and doting daughters, Darlene M. and Cynthia A. Evancho both of Moon Township. Cherished brother of Ann Koleszar (John) of Scottsdale, AZ, James Ivancso (Cora) of Michigan and the late Steven and Frank Ivancso; also, many loving nieces and nephews. John was a former member of St. Williams Church. John was the general manager of Waukesha Block. He had proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. John was a great dad, always a hard worker and a great provider for his family. Now with John’s passing, we feel he is back now with the love of his life, his Maryanne. Dad, always remember our question, “how is my handsome favorite father?” Papa, you know we will always love you. Please continue to watch over us forever and always. “We love you Daddy”.
