Janice Preston (Terrill) Murphey

Janice Preston (Terrill) Murphey, was taken to her heavenly home two days before her 95th birthday on Monday, August 20, 2018 from Allegheny General Hospital. Janice was born in Hartford, Connecticut on August 22, 1923, one of four children to the late Ralph and Florence (Scott) Terrill. Janice married her beloved husband, Moses Collins Murphey in 1948.During their 61 years of marriage, they enjoyed vacationing, traveling all over the world, spending winters in Naples, FL, and ballroom dancing. Janice and Moses made Masonic Village their home in August of 2006, formerly of Moon Township. They were members of Sharon Community Presbyterian Church where Janice had served as a deacon. On January 7, 2010, Moses passed away. Janice had worked for Plain Field Trust, Bookkeeper for Central Hanover Bank in NYC, Office of Dependency Benefits and Springs Mills Inc. Janice would be considered a home manager, everything in perfect balance. She loved being with family, entertaining, and making all the holidays special. She also was an avid bridge player and enjoyed swimming. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children Bruce Alan Murphey and Nancy Lynn McKim and her brother David Terrill. Loving mother of Betsy Anne Williams and husband David of N. Canton, OH and John Robert Murphey and wife Buffy of Kings Mountain, NC; mother-in-law of Blake McKim of Wexford; cherished grandmother of Laura, Sarah, Madison Williams, Christopher and Jonathan (wife, Traci) McKim, Lyndsey Murphey and Jacob Murphey; sister of Barbara Wilder of CA and Dorothy Warren of FL.,Janice also leaves behind a very dear friend. Austin McGrath. Visitation Saturday, September 1, 2018, 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Sharon Community Presbyterian Church, 522 Carnot Rd., Moon Township, PA 15108. Burial will be private for family at Sewickley Cemetery.
