Janet (Castellan) Zvaleny

Janet (Castellan) Zvaleny, age 80, a life-long resident of Moon Township, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Heritage Valley Sewickley. She was born in Sewickley, PA on August 13, 1937 to the late Daniel and Margaret (Zemba) Castellan. On July 29, 2004, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Donald L. Zvaleny. Loving mother of Pamela A. (Ronald) Galiano of Peters Twp., Lori T. Kiray, Donald A. Zvaleny (Jo-Anne Reynolds) and Janice M. Zvaleny (Tony Mosqueda) of Moon Township; devoted grandmother of Kristin Galiano (Alex Snyder), Brittany Galiano, Shannan and Brenna Kiray, and Madelyn Zvaleny; sister of Elaine Castellan of Arlington, VA. Janet was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church. She loved to socialize, making everyone who entered the Moon Township K-mart feel welcome whether it be in The Café or just checking out. Janet loved being surrounded by her family and loved to travel with the family especially to the Bahamas. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were the great joy of her life. She also was an avid reader. Visitation Friday 4-8 PM at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where prayers of transfer will be said on Saturday at 9 AM followed by Mass at 9:30 AM at St. Margaret Mary Church. Father Frank Kurimsky celebrant. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
