James Edward “Jim” Smith, age 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Moon Twp. on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 with his daughter near. Born in Pittsburgh on May 3, 1929, he was father of Karen, Diana (Jim) & Richard (Kim). Grandfather of 5, Great Grandfather of 4, and Buddy, his chocolate Lab. He was preceded in death by his parents & sister Alberta Griffin. He was a US Army Veteran serving as a combat Medic in the Korean War. A hard worker, he was knowledgeable about many things including construction, electrical, plumbing and anything that needed fixed or repaired. Jim was a passionate animal lover. He will be greatly missed by his family & friends. A private service will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Please consider a donation to the Humane Society in his name.
