Howard "Keith" Shackelford

Keith Shackelford, “Chef Extraordinaire” age 60, of Pittsburgh formerly of Coraopolis, passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday, October 1, 2018. He was born in Sewickley Valley Hospital on February 16, 1958 to Clara (Lee) Shackelford and the late Wayne G. Shackelford, Sr. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his long-time companion, Carla Simpson. Loving father of Desiree Brescio of Charlotte, NC, Chad Simpson of Columbus, OH, Sasha Simpson and Christian Simpson both of San Diego, CA; proud grandfather of Sahera, Zyier, Mojave, Chad Jr., Chloe and Jada; cherished brother of Marsha Ellis of Coraopolis, Joy Shackelford of Pittsburgh, Lee Kevin Shackelford (Natasha) of Gastonia, NC, Richard Shackelford of Walnut Creek CA, Timothy Shackelford (Ethel) of Wilmington, NC and the late Wayne G. Shackelford, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and last but not least his lifelong canine companion, Laddie.  Keith, a 1976 graduate of Cornell High School,  was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance in Coraopolis. His cooking expertise was learned in kitchens all over the country. He was renowned chef for Piccolo Piccolo in Downtown Pittsburgh, Juno Trattoria in One Oxford Center, Papa J’s, and the World Center Exchange Plaza in Manhattan. Keith never let his illness, Scleroderma, ever define his life nor hold him back. Keith loved life, family, beaches, oceans, dancing, music, and traveling all over the United States. An Avid partier, he knew how to have fun. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Visitation Friday 2-4, 6-9 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. where service will be conducted on Saturday at 1 PM, Rev. James Walston and Rev. Gerard Rippy will be officiated. Family respectfully and graciously asks donations be made to Copeland's to help defray funeral expenses.
