Grace (Venuti) McElearney

Grace (Venuti) McElearney, age 88, formerly of Center, Moon Township and Oneida, NY, currently making her home with her daughter in Oakdale, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospice House. She was born in New York, New York on November 4, 1929 to the late Joseph and Lillian (Curro) Venuti. Grace was married 53 ½ years to her beloved Arthur “Mac” McElearney who passed on September 12, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded by her cherished granddaughter, Katelyn McElearney. Beloved mother of Richard (Pam) McElearney of Atlanta, GA, Elizabeth (William) McNichol of Oneida, New York, Diane (Daniel) Barto of Baden, Arthur (Cheryl) McElearney of Moon Township, Eileen (David) Speelman of Crafton, and Karen (Mark) Helliar of Oakdale; adored grandmother of Jennifer McElearney, Denise Fantone, Donna (Daniel) Giammatteo, Eric McElearney, Charles Speelman, Kevin Speelman, Kyle Helliar and Sean Helliar; proud great grandmother of Treyton McElearney, Dyllan McAfee, Jonathan Fantone and Edyn and Cooper Giammatteo; dear sister of Marie (Lou) Balicki. Grace was very involved as a member for 45 years and volunteer at Our Lady of Fatima. Grace was a former telephone operator in New York and a jewelry clerk, but her number 1 job was being “wonderful Mom and Grandma” Her joy in her life was her family. Visitation with be at Our Lady of Fatima, on Saturday from 9:30 AM until Mass at 10 AM. Entombment will be private at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
