Elizabeth Jean Lasenburg a life-long resident of Coraopolis passed away peacefully on October 24, 2019 in Allegheny General Hospital at the age of 83. She was born in Sewickley Valley Hospital on February 19, 1936. She was the cherished daughter of Alva Shackelford and Ernest Dye.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Ernest (Buster) Dye, Louis Dye, and Joey Dye, two daughters Patricia (Dye) Alford and Helen (Lasenburg) McDougald, also one son William (Baseball) Lasenburg.
She is survived by two sisters, Ruth Higgins of Atlanta, GA and Edna Cox of Las Vegas NV; her son Eddie (Regina) Revis of New Brighton, PA; her three daughters Edie Jean (William) Sturdivant of Tulsa OK, Linda Lasenburg of Coraopolis Bonnie (Kenneth) Owens of Aliquippa and honorary daughter Kim ( Lasenburg) Haskins of Coraopolis,and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews all who she truly loved.
She had a magnetic personality. Her infectious smile, good sense of humor and helpful nature was known by many people. She was a long time employee of Sheraton Hotel in Moon Township. After she retired she worked for many years as a home health aide and companion with Ursaline Center of Pittsburgh.
Jean also enjoyed traveling with the former Coraopolis Assiegie Corporals Drill Team as a chaperone and helping with fundraising for many of their competitions. That's why she's still known as "Mom", "Grandma", and "Aunt Jean".
She was baptized and a long standing member at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Coraopolis, PA where she served as an usher and on many committees until her health prevented her from doing so.
She will be missed by all.
