Donald Edward Carter, age 81, a life-long resident of Coraopolis, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Coraopolis on June 2, 1936 to the late John and Florence Carter.  On May 13, 1996, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carroll (Clark) Carter who he married on Dec. 29, 1963. Beloved father of Emmanuel L Carter (the late Wanda Williams) of AZ, Elouise Carter (Marcy Wiebe) of McKees Rocks, Raymond Carter of Coraopolis, Terry Carter Rau (Micah) of NH, Michelle Watkins of Robinson Township, Tara Elliott of Pittsburgh , William Carter (Christine) of Coraopolis and the late Dawn McCullough, Winona Cater; loving brother of Lydia, Dorothy and Eleanor; a multitude of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; also, many loving nieces and nephews. Donald was a truck driver by trade, but a loving father by choice, not only to his children, but to all of those who came to know him. He was so proud to be lead singer for The Cameo’s, a 1950 singing group. He was an avid bowler. His stern personality may have you thinking he was hard but, he was a father to all and one to help others. He loved to go to the casino, bet on the horses and play the numbers (The Cash Market would always know “Mr. D’s” numbers).  Donald’s wishes were to be cremated. In memory of Donald, please do a kind act for someone in need. Arrangements by Copeland’s.  A committal will be held later at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors.
