Dolores “Dee” M. (Winkler) George, age 69, of Independence Township since 1978, formerly of Brookline, an excessively strong-willed woman who never backed down from anything, especially Multiple Myeloma, passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family’s love on Friday, January 11, 2019. She was born in Pittsburgh on July 20, 1949 to the late John and Dolores (Arnold) Winkler. Beloved wife for 44 years to Robert “Bob” George; loving mother of Robert E. George III (Michelle) of Round Rock, TX and Lesley Boscarino (Michael) of Alexandria, VA; sister of Kenneth Winkler (Anne) of Robinson; daughter-in-law of Connie George of Independence Twp.; sister-in-law Karen George-Bedillion (Warren “Butch”) of Independence Township; aunt of Beth Ann Sorsby (Earl), Amy Meyer (Craig) and Michael Winkler; also other great nieces and nephews. Dee was a good and honest person, a people person, generous to a fault. She had a way of making her home warm and welcoming where her children’s friends felt like they were also her own. She was funny and had a great sense of humor and enjoyed her own humor. She was supportive to all but mostly her family. Her quotes will always remain in our memories of “Really?”, “What’s the matter?” and “No good deed goes unpunished!”. Visitation Monday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where prayer will be recited on Tuesday at 9:15 AM followed by Mass at Our Lady of Fatima at 10 AM. Burial will be private.
