Clara Jane (Mather) Wallace, age 83, of Coraopolis, formerly of Glenwillard, left her earthly life, amid an electric thunderstorm, to be with her husband on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from St. Clair Hospital.  She was born in Sewickley on December 11, 1933 to the late George and Lena (Patton) Mather. She married Wilmer R. Wallace on January 20, 1950, who pampered her until his death on February 18, 2012. Wilmer and Clara were inseparable and enjoyed raising their five daughters, each special in their own way. Their family, their legacy, grew with each marriage and the welcomed birth of grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Floyd Mather and her granddaughter Wendy Hyre. Beloved mother of Billie Jane (Art) Grey, Judy (Bill) Cook, Barbara Jean (Bob) Petro, Georgiana (David) Gilbert and Tammie (John) Stephens; loving grandmother of 8 and great grandmother to 9. Clara, fun to be around, was a member of the Red Hats, was known to play the lottery a time or two, ventured to the casinos with each of her children and enjoyed an occasional daiquiri. She was a strong woman who spoke her mind and she made a wonderful home-life for her family. She will be greatly missed. Visitation Sunday 2-4, 7-9 at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where service will be held on Monday at 11 AM. Rev. Wayne Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. Family suggests, if desired, donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
