Christopher Simpson, an extremely proud father and loving husband, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the age of 43. Listed as "Love of My Life" in his cell phone, Chris married Kelly (Miller) Simpson over 12 years ago in a little Nevada town called Las Vegas. Four years ago, they took their family on an adventure from North Carolina and made Moon Township, PA their home. In a very short time, this city turned their two cherished sons, Drew Houston and Sylas Loyd Simpson, into passionate Pirate fans. Chris loved being involved in sports and jumped right in to coaching several teams in Moon Township Little League Baseball, mentoring not only his sons but connecting with other children and their families who were sports enthusiasts. Chris was an avid sports fan, often on the golf course with friends if not on the ball field, and was an exuberant fan of his Carolina “Tarheels”. Through Chris's IT career, he has acquired several significant certifications in the technology field and yet has been known as the 'least nerdy IT guy' you could know. Born in Memphis, TN on May 25, 1976, he was one of two sons to Arthur M. Jr. and Georganna (Grogan) Simpson. In addition to his amazing wife, sons and parents, Chris is survived by his brother Nathaniel B. (Stacy Fussner) Simpson, his mother-in-law Linda Miller, brother -in-law Brian Miller, along with many Moon Coaches and little leaguers. Please join us as we gather to celebrate Chris’s life on Thursday (Sept. 12) at 6:30 PM at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. Feel free to dress casually, just for comfort, as Chris would request, and please wear your team jersey or favorite ball cap. We welcome participation in celebrating this wonderful man’s life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Moon Township Baseball Association, PO Box 1042 Moon, PA 15108.
