Charles J. Bell, age 94, of Coraopolis, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 surrounded by family and the loving staff of H.J. Heinz VA Aspinwall where he was honored by personnel, and veterans with a military escort on his final journey. He was born on October 7, 1923, one of 12 to the late Raymond W. Bell, Sr. and Marie (Wagner) of Coraopolis. Survived by sisters Rose Weber, Moon Twp., Virginia Davies, Coraopolis; Betty Brough, Carnegie; Mary Lou (Bob) Coradi, Coraopolis; Jean (Jim) Kozerovich; Moon Twp., Brother Daniel (Nance) Bell, Cranberry; Sister In-laws Gloria Bell, Kennedy Township; Bonnie Bell, Hopewell Twp.; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Brother’s Raymond W. Bell Jr., William Bell, Robert Bell and James T. Bell, Sister Barbara Mosberger, Brother In-law Frank Weber and Robert Davies and Sister In-law Lois Jean Bell.
Charles served in the U.S. Army during World War II 541 ST Quartermaster Co.; he retired from L. C. Moore, Neville Island and was a member of St. Joseph Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying many fishing trips to Pymatuning and Canada with family.
Visitation will be Friday, July 20, 4 - 8:00 p.m. at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave., Prayers will be recited on Saturday, July 21 at 8:30 a.m. followed by 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church with Father Frank Kurimsky being the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Coraopolis with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his honor be made to the Veteran Association of their choice.
