Betty D. (Westmoreland) Harris, was taken peacefully by the Lord to her heavenly home on her birthday, Friday, July 6, 2018 from Good Samaritan Hospice of Heritage Valley Beaver, at the age of 85. In our hearts, we know Betty is now singing for Jesus. We fully expect, when we meet again, that she will be Director of The Choir. Born in Harriman, TN on July 6, 1933, she was raised in the church, blessed with a beautiful voice and began her singing career in the church at the age of 4. Her professional singing career continued with her own radio show, age 13, known as “Little Sweet Heart” and continued singing throughout her life. Betty made her home in Moon Township and was a member of the Prince of Peace Church. Beloved mother of Robert “Bobby” O. Sitzler (deceased), Sherry Brooks (James), Wayne Ferguson, David Harris, J. Christopher Harris, Rebecca Martelli (Al) and William P. Harris (Monica); daughter of the late Avie Lee Brown; cherished sister of Ola Faye Brown (deceased) and Carlene Gibson; also, proud grandmother of 15 and great grandmother of 6.
