Audrey E. (Vedder) Mertz

Audrey Mertz, age 89, of Glenwillard, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away July 10, 2018.

She was born on December 19, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of August and Martha Vedder.

Audrey is survived by her children, Harry (Michele) Mertz, Eileen (Art) Ragsdale, and Diane (Craig) Donnan; her grandchildren, Morgan (Garrett), Abby, Harry, Ashley, Krista, Keagan (Lauren), and Natalie; her great-grandchild, Audrey Jane; and sister Jeanne.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry C. Mertz, whom she was married to for 62 years; and sisters Dee and Eileen.

Audrey had an unmatched joy and zest for life. She loved everything and everyone. She will be remembered for her laugh, her love and her faith. She was a long standing member of Zion Lutheran Church and choir. She especially enjoyed hunting and spending time at the family camp in Punxsutawney; being outside in the sunshine; going to dances with her husband. She loved

spending time with her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Mam-ma. Mam-ma took them on outdoor adventures, taught them to play games and fed them delicious meals. Audrey was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation Thursday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. Everyone please meet for funeral service at Zion Lutheran Church, 1305 State Ave., Coraopolis, PA 15108 on Friday at 10 AM. Because of their exceptional care, the family suggests donations in her name to either Caring Heights, 234 Coraopolis Rd., Coraopolis, PA 15108, or Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Rd., Ste 200, Wexford, PA 15090.
