Anna Marie (Basich) Pitek

Anna Marie (Basich) Pitek, formerly of Moon Township, PA, was peacefully taken from this earth on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange Care Center in Florida. She was born in Edenborn, PA, on March 23, 1921 to the late Michael and Catherine (Repish) Basich Sr. She married the love of her life, Michael P. Pitek Jr, on May 10, 1947, and is now united with him in heaven. Michael P. Pitek Jr. passed on August 4, 1998. Michael would refer to his beloved as “Hun”. He and “Hun” had two adoring sons: Michael P. Pitek III (Spouse Catherine Reich Pitek) of Buffalo, NY, and Barry S. Pitek (Spouse Randy Bennett) with whom she made her new home as of June 6, 2017, in Port Orange, FL. She was the cherished Mam’Ma of Scott Thomas Pitek of Portland, OR, Rachel Ann Pitek Horta (Spouse Marco Horta) of San Jose, Costa Rica, Christopher Michael Pitek (Spouse Melissa Goris Pitek) of Buffalo, NY, Emily Catherine Pitek Clifford (Spouse Brian Clifford) of Birmingham, AL, and Mary Elizabeth Pitek of Philadelphia, PA; proud great grandmother of Elizabeth Brennan Clifford, Caroline Garvey Clifford, Addison Leah Pitek and Sienna Rose Horta; loving sister of George Basich of Streetsboro, OH, and the late Josephine Mekey, William and Michael Basich Jr.; sister-in-law of Patricia Basich of Streetsboro, OH, Christina Pitek of West Brownsville, PA, Elizabeth Harless of Englewood, FL, and Susan Senda, of Lanham, MD; and loving nieces, nephews, and cousin. Anna Marie was retired from Max’s Variety Store in Jefferson, PA. Anna Marie, was a member of the Catholic Church of the Epiphany in Port Orange, FL, and a former member of St. Margaret Mary Parish, Moon Township, PA, and St. James Parish, Sewickley, PA. She was deeply devoted to her faith and her family. Anna Marie was a giving, caring, compassionate woman who was always concerned about others and their feelings. Always a mother, she never stopped giving. As her sons cherished their time at their mother’s bedside, she was quietly taken into the Arms of Jesus. Visitation will be Tuesday (October 3, 2017) 6-8 PM at Copeland’s Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. where prayers will be recited on Wednesday (October 4, 2017) at 9:20 AM followed by Mass at 10 AM at St. James Church, 200 Walnut St., Sewickley, PA 15143. Rev. Thomas J. Burke will concelebrate with Rev. John Ayoob. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, PA.
