William (Bill) Gressen, 77, of Moon Township., Pa, departed this life peacefully Friday, June 9, 2017, in Greentree Manor Care, Pittsburgh Pa. He was born April 1, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pa. son of the late William (Willie) and Eva Hawkins Gressem. He was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Mary Ann Delaney Gressen (1997); second wife Josetta Lamorella (2015); and daughters, Tracy Khellieia, Mary Ann, and Lori Lynn Gressen.
William is a 1958 graduate of Clairton High School, Clairton, Pa. He was enlisted into the United States Marine Corp May, 1961, completing two tours during the Viet Nam era. He is a decorated soldier and dedicated his life for his country for 23 years. He then began to work for the federal government, acquired a bachelor’s degree in business, and retired. He was a former member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Clairton, Pa.
Surviving are his sons William K. Gressen and Marcuis Lee (Lisa) Gressen; and daughter, Annette Evette Gressen Barnes all of Maryland. William is also survived by his siblings: brothers, Walter (Gloria) Gressem and John (Renee) Gressem, both of Elizabeth Township, Pa., Michael (Sharon) Gressem of Clairton, Pa.; sisters, Inez (Elbie) Williams, of Capitol Heights, Md. and Barbara (Fred) Arnold, of Clairton, Pa.; brother-in-law, Wilford McGrew, of Fairfield, Alabama; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Morning Star Baptist Church, 307 Shaw Avenue, Clairton, Pa. where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017.
