Raymond “Ray” E. Farnen, age 66, of Kennedy Township, formerly of Oakdale, a family man, intelligent, and business owner, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born on September 18, 1949 to the late Paul and Alice (Wagner) Farnen. Beloved husband for 24 years of Maria-Antonieta (Grau) Farnen; loving father of Ashley-Maria Farnen of Kennedy; brother of Judith “Judy” Addison of Gibsonia, Cathleen (Mark) Moneyhon of Somerset, KY and Ronald (Diane) Farnen of Akron, OH; uncle of Melanie (Jeff), Kyle, Michael, Jessica and Christopher; great uncle of Adrian, Austin, Riley and Holden. A man who lived by the Golden Rule, he was a member of St. Columbkille R.C. Church and donated to many charities. Ray was a graduate of Deer Lakes High School, obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics with emphasis on Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and his Master’s in Business from Xavier University. Ray, a computer software designer was owner and operator of R & A Farnen Services. He will be remembered as caring, loving, religious and a very fair person. Visitation Thursday 2-4, 7-9 at Copeland’s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. where prayers will be recited on Friday at 9:30 AM followed by mass at St. James Church at 10 AM. Rev. Thomas J. Burke, celebrant. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park, Cheswick, Indiana County. Family suggests donations in his name to one of his favorite charities, the Ronald McDonald House.
