Welcome to the memorial page for

Patricia G. (Gilmore) Hobbs

October 7, 1934 ~ April 20, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Patricia G. Hobbs was a beautiful lady; she was the perfect Mom (Grandmother & Great Grandmother). It is difficult to find the words that best describe Patricia, our mother, but a few are caring, loving, funny, and thoughtful. Patricia, along with her husband of 51 years, raised 5 children. She was an active member in the community and her children’s schools. She was a proud resident of Neville Island, where she lived the majority of her life and kept the family home as a beacon of her strength. Patricia had a few jobs during her life, but the one we know she loved was homemaker and mother. The most important lessons were not verbal; they were in her actions. She always worked hard, never complained, and was always there when you needed her the most. She loved music, playing the piano, and being with family and friends. She was our mother, our friend, and will be missed every day for the rest of our lives. Patricia was born in Belle Vernon on October 7, 1934, daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Theresa Irene (Garren) Gilmore. In 2007, she was preceded by her husband, James Hobbs whom she married on June 30, 1956. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 9 sisters and brothers, Eliza Atkinson, Hazel Maxwell, Betty Jean Minor, Eva Adkins, Margaret Sheridan, Bud Gilmore, Louis Gilmore, Jim Gilmore, and Beatrice Roush. She was the beloved mother of Terri Hobbs of Moon Twp., Jeff & Trudy Hobbs of Coplay, Kim Rubesne of Neville Island, JoBeth & Tim Herbster of Sunbury, and Patrick & Tracy Hobbs of Moon Twp.; cherished grandmother of Nick, Matthew, Jessica, Jason, Ashley, Garren, Harry, TJ, and Cullen; proud great grandmother of Caleb; sister-in-law of Dan Sheridan of Ashland, KY; also many loving nieces and nephews. Memorial visitation at the Copeland Coraopolis Funeral Home, 867 Fifth Ave.Tuesday 9:30 AM until time of service at 12:30 PM with Pastor Karl McDonald officiating.
