Margaret A. (Cronin) Neely, a wonderful mom and grandmother; a long-time resident of Sewickley, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Concordia at the Orchard, Butler, at the age of 98. She was born in Sewickley on December 30, 1918 to the late Thomas and Anna (McLaughlin) Cronin. In 1979, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, William C. Neely.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by siblings Thomas and James Cronin and Mary Amend. Beloved mother of William D. Neely (Elizabeth), Thomas C. Neely (Jerri), Mame Convery (David) and Michael J. Neely (Sheri); cherished grandmother of Neil, Erin, Devin, Jay, Matthew, William and Olivia; proud great grandmother of 6; well-loved sister of Anne Abercrombie. Margaret was a member of St. James Church. Growing up in Sewickley, she was a 1938graduate of Sewickley High School. As a young woman, she overcame adversity never letting it diminish her happiness in living. Her strength of character was instilled in her children’s hearts. Margaret was all about family and was dedicated to her children  and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was having everyone come home, celebrating together, her birthday and Fourth of July. Visitation Tuesday 6-8 PM at Copeland’s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. where prayers will be recited on Wednesday at 11:30 AM followed by Mass at St. James church on Wednesday at 12 Noon. Rev. Thomas J. Burke, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Because of her exceptional care at Concordia, the family wished to thank them and have donations in her name to Concordia Foundation.
