Lucile (Schoonover) Harrington Oellig, age 93, a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, of Moon Township since 1967, formerly of Kennedy Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospice House. She was born in Bellevue on August 18, 1923 to the late Richard and Grace (Proven) Schoonover. Lucile graduated from Bellevue High School in 1941. In 1944, she married Paul Harrington (who passed in 1977) and they had three wonderful children:  Barbara Knotts (deceased) and husband Larry Knotts of Sewickley; Robert Harrington of Greenville, NC, and Paul Harrington of Moon Township. In 1978, Lucile and John Oellig (who passed in 1988) were wed and they added two more children to their blessed family, Dennis Oellig (Karen) of Kansas City, MO and Janet Oellig of Coraopolis. Her loving family kept expanding with four adored grandchildren John (Mandy) Knotts, Melissa (Jim) Dietrich and Joshua and Ben Oellig; and five cherished great grandchildren: Katelyn, Travis, Luke, Skyler, and Hannah. In addition to her parents, husbands and daughter, she was predeceased by her sister Ethel Jones. Lucile was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Coraopolis participating in the Hospitality Committee, Sewing Club and the Bible Study. The Sewing Club knitted sweaters and donated them to World Vision Missions and baby blankets to Choices Pregnancy Center. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, and culinary delights from her workshop kitchen. Visitation Saturday 2 PM until time of service at 4 PM at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. Rev. Mark Heiner will officiate. Burial will be private at Allegheny County Memorial Park. Because of her devotion to the First Baptist Church of Coraopolis, the family suggests donations to her church, in lieu of flowers.
