Joseph A. Dickerson, Sr., age 92,a faithful man, wonderful husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital. Living his whole life in Coraopolis, he was born on November 10, 1924 to the late Leroy and Gertrude (Penn) Dickerson. Beloved husband for 65 years to Virley (Wooding) Dickerson; loving father of Andrea and Joseph A. Dickerson, Jr.; cherished Grandpa of Keith Dickerson; brother of Helen Louise Mabin and the late Ella Virginia Coleman & Raymond Dickerson. Joseph was a longtime member of Victory Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a choir member. Joseph retired from U.S. Chemical, Neville Island where he had been a chemical operator. He was an avid traveler, enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles but most of all loved to walk Storm, his son’s collie. Visitation Wednesday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. with further visitation on Thursday 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Victory Baptist Church, 1437 Juanita St., Pittsburgh (Northside), PA 15223. Burial will follow in Coraopolis Cemetery.
