John Paul “Jay” Anderko, age 60, of Pittsburgh formerly of Spotswood, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 26, 2017. He was born in Spotswood, NJ on June 1, 1957, son of the late Paul John and Carrie Anderko. In 2006, he fell in love with Donna “Osquer” Anderko, romantically proposed at the water steps on the North Shore. They married in that same spot on May 17, 2008. Loving father of Paul Anderko of Denver, CO and Lucas Anderko of Pittsburgh; over-joyed Oompah of Marley Rain. Jay was an expert in Information Technology and built e-mail systems. Jay was a good man, always kinder than he needed to be, and he always gave a little extra. He loved his adopted city of Pittsburgh and was a wholehearted Yinzer. Jay was most proud of serving on the Stadium Authority Board of Pittsburgh and was passionate about making the North Shore beautiful for the people of Pittsburgh. Family was always his number one priority. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Visitation Friday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. where service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM. Rev. Joan Reasinger will officiate. Family welcomes flowers but would love balloon bouquets in reference to the movie UP.
