John Franklin McCormicK (Frank), 96, a lifelong resident of Moon Township, passed peacefully on June 21st, 2016. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert J. McCormick and Mother, Myrtle (Magnus) McCormick and a brother; Robert L. McCormick.  He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Marion (McConnell) McCormick, four children, Allison (Robert) Wenzel, Lynn (Jack) Carlson, Jack (Trudy) McCormick, and The Rev. Dr. Elizabeth (Betsy) McCormick (Mary Almy);a sister , Marjorie Gleichert. He was beloved grandfather of six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and had many nieces and nephews.

          Frank  was born December 6, 1919 at his home in Coraopolis.  He  graduated from Penn State University in 1941, and was a Captain in the Army Air Corp in WWII. He was a retired brokerage Manager of Manu Life Insurance Company. He was elder and clerk of session of Coraopolis Presbyterian Church. Frank was a 75 year member of the Coraopolis Lodge F&AM #674, York Rite, Scottish Rite, and Syria Shrine playing in their band. His community service commitment was further exemplified by his 30 years of service to meals on wheels, the Moon Township Historical Society, Kiwanis Club, Exchange Club, and the YMCA.  Visitation: Monday, June 27th, 4:00PM-8:00PM at R.D. Copeland Funeral Home, 867 Fifth Avenue, Coraopolis, PA. Funeral Service: Tuesday, June 28th at 10:00AM at Coraopolis Presbyterian Church, 1201 Fifth Avenue, Coraopolis, PA. Members of Coraopolis Lodge # 674 will hold a Service for their departed Brother, Monday at 7PM in the Funeral Home.

          In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coraopolis Presbyterian Church
