I was so fortunate to have been touched by Mr. Evancho in my life. He had the softest heart behind that cover of strength. He was a man who never forgot his roots and loved his wife and daughters more than anything else. I will never forget him and the impact he made in my life.

When I close my eyes I can see and hear Uncle John playing cards and looking at us with his arms crossed shaking his head, to eating a Tony Packo hot dog, or cheering on his favorite football team. When I would call he would say "his girls are making cabbage and I am having one of the cakes they made his Hungarian cakes and foods that he loved. You could hear the love and smile in his voice when he said"my girls". These are the memories and more I will always carry with me about Uncle John my Godfather. His love will always be with me. Now close your eyes you see Uncle John like me bet you are also smiling. Think of you always love Maggie

You were more than my daddy, you were my hero! I love you so much and I miss miss you. You took a part of my heart with you and you will always be a part of me. I was blessed on the day I was born because I got you and mommy. Thank you for your love and support for my whole life, a child can ask for nothing more. You are with mommy now and I know that makes you happy.

Message from His nephew Alex

There's a gut emptiness that I've felt since my uncle's passing, and a deep sadness that preceded that as his health declined. I think we all (if we are lucky) have someone who, for no reason at all, pays attention to us, and makes us feel unique and special. Uncle John, you did that, and I will never forget your kindness. I have some very special memories, and I still can hear your laughter and see your smile. Thank you for all you did, not just for me, but for so many.
