Jean Reber Grigsby, 90, of Bell Acres, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Valencia Woods following a brief illness. She is now reunited with her beloved Bobby, husband of 54 years, Robert S. Grigsby who passed on August 26, 2004. Born in Palmerton, PA on July 1, 1927, she was one of two daughters to the late Clyde and Alice (Liebenguth) Reber. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Kathleen Maloney. Jean is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and David McCready of Fox Chapel; and her cherished grandson Cameron McCready; also many loving nieces and nephews. Jean grew up in Palmerton and was a graduate of Stephen S. Palmer High School. Jean then went on to obtain her Bachelors’ and Masters’ from the University of Pittsburgh in Fashion Merchandising which provided for her long and well-loved career at the Band Box in Sewickley. Jean was a member of the Child Health Association and Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Both Jean and Bob were members of St. James Church and the Sewickley Heights Golf Club. Jean had a wonderful sense of humor, very dry wit and a was a lover of animals. She touched more lives than can be counted. Visitation Tuesday 2-4, 6-8 at Copeland’s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. where prayers will be recited on Wednesday at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at 10 AM at St. James Church. Rev. Thomas J. Burke, celebrant. Burial will follow in Sewickley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in her name to American Heart Association.
