ALIMENA HELEN ANN
Age 84, of Sewickley, passed on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Born July 4, 1932, in Aliquippa. Daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Brnjas) Witko ; preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Albert J. Alimena, Jr. ("Butch") and her grandson Gerard; mother of Susan (Michael) Poore of Cecil, Twp., Sandra (Gerard) Trovato of Sewickley, Deborah Luttrell of Naples, FL, Albert J. Alimena III, Sewickley and MaryJo (Guy) Caruso of Baden, PA; grandmother of Ashley Poore, Jessica and Tony Trovato, Duane Luttrell, Griffin, Mack, Connor and Sophia Caruso; great- grandmother of Aeyden Luttrell; and beloved relative to several extended family members, including Mara Milosevic, in Croatia. Helen graduated from Aliquippa High School at the age of 16, received her R.N. from Sewickley Valley Hospital School of Nursing and her Master’s Degree from Slippery Rock University. Helen was an elementary school nurse for the West Allegheny School District until her retirement. She enjoyed playing bridge, bingo, knitting, and flower gardening. Helen was a member of St. James Church and the 55+ Club. A graveside Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 22, 11:00 a.m. at St. James Church Cemetery with Fr. Thomas J. Burke, as celebrant.
