Dorothy Marie (Hendel) Carey, 87 of Neville Island passed on Monday October 16, 2017. Born October 18, 1929 in Coraopolis, daughter of the late Paul A. Jr. and Marie (Scherer) Hendel. Loving mother of Douglas (Marni) Carey of Winter Park, FL and Diane (James) Oberleitner of Neville Island, Grandmother of Adam, Alyssa, Nicholas, Brett, Jared and Jamie, Great Grandmother of Mason, Ariel and Kamon; sister of the late Grace Colarossi and Harry Hendel; aunt of several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Zion Lutheran Church where she was involved with the choir and Sunday school. She loved animals and liked to travel. Visitation Saturday 9-11 AM Copeland’s Coraopolis, 867 Fifth Ave. where a service will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment Coraopolis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to Animal Friends in her memory.
