Christine Rozsa Obituary

Christine Marie Rozsa passed away on April 6, 2018, in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was 59. She was the eldest daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Rozsa of Moon Township. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched — family, friends, and the rescue dogs she dedicated much of her life to. Chris was an avid reader who at one time wrote poetry and lively fiction stories. Complications from diabetes limited her eyesight and impacted her ability to enjoy those pastimes, but she remained a huge fan of literature, enjoying books on tape. She loved the outdoors and liked to go camping and walking. Her greatest love and passion was for rescue dogs, especially pit bulls. Her dear rescue dog Buddy was one of her greatest joys. The family wishes to thank our dear childhood friends who supported and helped care for Chris, especially in her final days. Beth Nobile Scarsellone was our angel on Earth for Christine. Beth’s sisters, Michelle and Natalie, helped bring happiness and comfort to Chris, and we are forever grateful to them. The Rozsa family would also like to thank the neighbors and friends on our beloved Cottonwood Court, where many of the best years of all our lives were spent. We were all glad that Chris had good neighbors to count on. Her longtime friend Orlando Valdiserri and his parents, Shirley and Jack O’Connor, were a second family for Chris, and she valued their love and friendship. Chris will always be remembered for her generous heart, and for her fiesty and fiercely independent spirit. "Strong willed, unique, and unapologetic," is the way one friend described her. She will be missed. Christine is survived by her brother, Eric J. Rozsa; sister Lori A. Rozsa; niece Lillian Rozsa; cousins Jeff, Mark, and Gary Rozsa,  Thomas Green, Patricia Penman, Roxanne Gajadhar; and Aunt Lorraine Rozsa and Uncle Guy Fusco. A celebration of life service will be held in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, donations in Christine’s name can be made the American Humane Society. Arrangements by Copeland’s of Moon Twp.
