Alice (Ben) Carroll, age 88, a Moon Township resident since 1960, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at West Hills Health and Rehab. Born in Francis Mine, PA on January 22, 1930, she was one of 10 born to the late Peter and Anna (Senczyszyn) Ben. In 1953, she married Francis J. Carroll who preceded her in death on January 5, 2002. They had two loving children, Carey Carroll of Pittsburgh and the late Francine Pulford; devoted grandmother of Craig, Carrie, Scott, Danny, and Nathaniel; great grandmother of Julie, Corey, C.J., Ava, and Zoey; great great grandmother to Natalie Rose; cherished sister of Jayne Welsh of Dormont and the late Katherine Thurman, Stephen Ben, John Ben, Michael Ben, infant Helen Ben, Ann Guiddy, Lillian McGrogan and Mary Bens. Alice worked in food service for Gladieux at the Greater Pittsburgh Airport. Alice began a family tradition with her children and her grandchildren to go blackberry picking and then rewarded everybody with homemade delicious blackberry pies.
